It did not begin with a publisher, a focus group or a boardroom. It began with years of watching fights and asking why no card game had captured the truth that styles make fights.
01
The missing game
Boxing games could offer action. Traditional cards could compare numbers. What felt missing was the space between them: a mobile game where the player reads a matchup, feels momentum change and understands why one style is causing another problems.
02
Cards with identity
The first real breakthrough was treating traits as more than bonuses. Heavy Hands, Lightning Jab, Counter Assassin, Iron Chin and Elusive Target could carry the habits and personality of a fighter into the game. Attributes show ability; traits show how that ability appears in a bout.
03
A world worth returning to
Part of the inspiration came from the sporting games people still play decades later. Championship Manager 01/02 proved that a simple presentation and a living competitive world could keep every result meaningful. Top Champs took that lesson into boxing: fight, collect, improve and climb.
04
From paper to playable
Fighter cards, scoring rules, trait families, commentary systems, momentum, sound and visual direction were developed piece by piece. In 2026, those systems became a playable Android build — not yet the finish line, but proof that the original idea could live on a screen.
05
Every bout counts
World Rankings complete the first big circle. A player now has a boxing name, a record and a league journey that gives each hand a consequence. The long-term vision can grow from there: more fighters, deeper progression, challenges and competitive play.
06
The next bell
Top Champs remains an independent build with an uncompromising quality bar. The goal now is to finish the launch version properly, introduce the first official roster and put a distinctive boxing game into players' hands.
